AFR is proud to introduce their new emissions legal (CARB #D-250-2) Small Block Chevy Vortec style cylinder head designed for 5.7 liter 1995 through 2000 Vortec Trucks or L-31 cast iron headed vehicles. These heads feature a 65cc combustion chamber with 64 cc exhaust ports and AFR’s trademark 3/4” thick head deck. The intake port is only 190cc’s and flows 275 CFM at a usable half inch of valve lift with excellent low and mid lift numbers as well. Standard equipment are AFR’s lightweight 8mm 2.020 intake valves and 1.600 exhaust valves with harden ductile iron interlocking valve seats. They are set up with AFR’s lightweight 1.290 hydraulic roller valve spring which eliminates valve float up to 6500 RPM (and 6700 RPM with our upgrade 8019 spring). Ideally designed to operate on your 350 – 406 CI between idle to 6500 RPM, these are a direct bolt on with no special parts required and readily accept the stock GM Vortec specific intake gasket.
